About 200 Bachelor students from RUDN University and partner universities had participated in school for prospective master`s students

The event was opened by Headmaster of Institute of Foreign Languages, a full member (academician) of International Academy of Teacher Education, honorable worker of Higher Education of Russia Natalia Leonidovna Sokolova. As a basis of her speech, she had chosen a statement that nowadays everything happening in the international education sphere is oriented on foreign languages, especially on English – educational process, scientific activity, needs for the publications abroad, informational technology and etc. Exactly because of that our School for prospective Master`s Students “Lifelong learning” in organization was focused on increasing the attractiveness of continuing education, according to a number of Master programs of Institute of Foreign Languages. Institute of Foreign Languages of RUDN University accumulated the best, stable and progressive national and international technologies in the field of linguistics, translation and translation studies, psychology, pedagogics, humanitarian and social sciences. The teaching staff of Institute constantly improves and enriches this process with the help of own creative elaboration.

The program of School was very saturated.

On the first day active master programs of Institute of Foreign Languages were presented.

N. Sokolova gave a basic presentation of master programs of Institute of Foreign Languages.

Presentation of programs “Theory of communication and international public relations” and “Theory of communication and simultaneous translation” was held by PhD in philology, docent, manager of “Linguistics” department, docent of Chair “Foreign Languages in Theory and Practice” Ludmila Alekseevna Egorova.

Master program “Psycho-pedagogical principles of organizational and managerial activities” was presented by PhD in pedagogical sciences, docent, Acting Head of the Department “Social Pedagogy” of Institute of Foreign Languages, docent of Chair “Foreign Languages in Theory and Practice” Maria Vladimirovna Mishatkina.

Popular master program “European Studies” was presented by PhD in Philology, Head of branch “Transregional studies” of Institue of Foreign Languages, Senior Lecturer of Chair “Foreign Languages in Theory and Practice”, Maryana Vladimirovna Donskaya.

Presentation was closed by Manager of part-time branch of Institute of Foreign Languages, Head of practice according to the direction “Linguistics”, executive secretary of Admission Committee of RUDN University Yekaterina Aleksandrovna Drozdova, who had introduced the presentation “Forms of practice within the framework of Magistracy of Institute of Foreign Languages of RUDN University”.

Then were held lectures by the leading professors and specialists.

PhD in History sciences, docent of Chair “Foreign Languages in Theory and Practice”, sinologist, expert of SUFR Program of Stanford University Oleg Anatolyevich Timofeev gave a lecture “New models of globalization on the example of Chinese-European relations”.

PhD in Philology, professor of Chair “Linguistics” of Volgograd State Socio-Pedagogical University Yana Aleksandrovna Volkova presented her report “Actual problems of international communication theory”.

Lectures were finished with a report of PhD in Pedagogical Sciences, professor of Chair “Social Pedagogy” of Institute of Foreign Languages, RUDN University, public expert of Russian Humanitarian Scientific Fund, a developer of Conception of constant economical education in the system of professional education Marina Georgievna Sergeeva. She told about basis of economic development of European countries.

Then Student Sections were held. Participants discussed information according to their research, expressed their opinions and consulted on actual issues with the heads of sections and colleagues.

Basic sections of School for prospective Master`s Students “Lifelong learning” were:

- “Theory of communication and international public relations”. Head of Section – Stanchulyak Tatiand Gennadievna, PhD in Philology, Senior Lecturer of Chair “Foreign Languages in Theory and Practice” of Institute of Foreign Languages.

- “Theory of communication and simultaneous translation”. Head of Section - PhD in Philology, professor of Chair “Linguistics” of Volgograd State Socio-Pedagogical University Yana Aleksandrovna Volkova.

- “Transregional Studies. European Studies”. Head of Section – PhD in Philology, Head of branch “Transregional studies” of Institute of Foreign Languages, Senior Lecturer of Chair “Foreign Languages in Theory and Practice”, Maryana Vladimirovna Donskaya.

- “Psycho-pedagogical principles of organizational and managerial activities”. Head of Section – PhD in pedagogical sciences, docent, Acting Head of the Department “Social Pedagogy” of Institute of Foreign Languages, docent of Chair “Foreign Languages in Theory and Practice” Maria Vladimirovna Mishatkina.

On the second day the leading professors and specialists continued their lectures.

PhD in Pedagogical sciences, Senior Lecturer of Chair “Social Pedagogy” of Institute of Foreign Languages of RUDN University, senior fellow worker of Institute of Art Education and Culturology RAE Oleg Denisovich Nikitin gave a lecture “Modern psychodrama”.

With great interest students listened to the lectures “Youth slang as a source of replenishment of wordlist of English language” and “English for Business Studies” by a participant of program “Russian Intellectual Resources”, leading lecturer of Magistracy “Theory of communication and international public relations” of Institute of Foreign Languages of RUDN University Darya Aleksandrovna Kaverina.

The Honored Lawyer of Russia, Deputy President of Guild of Russian Lawyers, arbitrator of International Commercial Arbitration Court of Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Russia, member of Royal Institute of Arbitrators (the UK), PhD in Jurisprudence, docent of Chair “Social Pedagogy” Sergei Grigoryevich Zelgin gave a lecture “Legal framework of the second level of the Higher Education - Magistracy”.

Lectures of the second day were finished with a report “Inclusive education for everyone: Russia and the world” of PhD in Philology, Senior Lecturer of the Chair “Foreign Languages in Theory and Practice” Ivan Sergeevich Samohin.

Then the work was continued with the Student Sessions.

The program of final day was saturated as well.

Manager of part-time branch of Institute of Foreign Languages, Head of practice according to the direction “Linguistics”, executive secretary of Admission Committee of RUDN University Yekaterina Aleksandrovna Drozdova organized a master class “From the experience of presentation and exhibition events of Institute of Foreign Languages”, where she had demonstrated a turn-based instruction for a preparation of presentations within the walls of RUDN University and within the framework of a retreat. The master class was continued byStanchulyak Tatiana Gennadievna, PhD in Philology, Senior Lecturer of Chair “Foreign Languages in Theory and Practice” of Institute of Foreign Languages with her report “Features of preparation and organization of PR campaigns of educational service, realized in Institute of Foreign Languages of RUDN University”.

The Head of branch of Foreign Languages of Further Vocational Education of Institute of Foreign Languages of RUDN University Vladimir Vladimirovich Uglov presented a program “Lifelong Learning”. He described present innovational programs in the field of foreign languages, pedagogy, psychology, management and internships abroad.

Senior Lecturer of Chair “Social Pedagogy” Irina Vladimirovna Kovalenko with her students prepared a performance, dedicated to the analyze of modern social addictions.

In conclusion all participants of the School could pass the test and determine their level of foreign languages skills.

The main aim of School was to unite students in the scientific search, improvement of knowledge and skills in the field of theoretical and applied linguistics and translation and translation studies, psychology, pedagogy, methods of teaching foreign languages and cultures, transregional studies, theory of intercultural communication, PR, advertising and management.

All listeners got certificates of participation.
