Philological Faculty
The Philological Faculty was established in 1996 as the result of restructuring Peoples’ Friendship University of Russia historical-philological faculty. Currently it offers the following educational programmes:
Bachelor’s degree (duration is 4 years):
- Philology
- Linguistics
- Journalism
- Psychology
Specialist’s degree (duration is 5 years):
Master’s degree (duration is 2 years after receiving the Bachelor’s degree):
- Linguistics
- Theory and history of literature
- The Russian as a foreign language
- International problems
- Organization of information production
- Theory of translation and cross-cultural communication
- Social psychology
- Psychological consulting
The Postgraduate Studies Department (duration of studies is 3 years) is another division of our faculty. All students can apply for the free-of-charge form of education or be enrolled on the payment basis.
At the Faculty of foreign languages foreign students study the Russian language and the general educational disciplines along with special disciplines after commencing their professional training at the main faculty. Our graduates have an opportunity to acquire the certificate of business language translator in their professional field.
Our faculty is equipped with computers and multimedia rooms, it is supplied with video facilities, has Internet and Intranet access. The faculty maintains diversified international connections and implements the programme of international cooperation together with more than 20 Universities and research centers worldwide. Dozens of our undergraduate and postgraduate students participate in exchange academic programmes, studying in European countries, Middle East and China every year.
Professor Alexander Kovalenko is the Dean of the PFUR Philological Faculty.
V. Barabash – is the Deputy Dean of the Philological Faculty and the Head of the Journalism and Public Relations Department.
