Foreign languages at PFUR.

PFUR is a unique Russian university for all its students along with their bachelor’s, master’s or specialist’s degree can obtain qualifying national diploma as an “interpreter of professional communications”.
The PFUR Institute of Foreign Languages offers a national programme of supplementary professional education for all its students and for external trainees. “An interpreter of professional communications” programme includes foreign languages (English, Arabic, Spanish, Italian, Chinese, German, Persian, French, Hindi and Japanese) studies and general professional disciplines. It’s an ongoing joint project of the Institute and other faculties of the University.
There are two formats of studies:

1. 5 year programme
2. 1 year of the modular training (training cost for humanities program – 162,000 RUB or 4500 c.u.; for science program – 108,000 RUB or 3,000 c.u.)
3. 4 years of the modular training on main faculty (training cost for humanities program – 36,000 RUB or 1,000 c.u.; for science program – 27,000 RUB or 750 c.u. per year)
4. 4 year training within the framework of the faculty curriculum or on evening courses (training cost is 54000 RUB or 1500 c.u. per year)

The PFUR Institute of Foreign Languages is a leading higher education institution of the Peoples Friendship University of Russia. It consists of a foreign language theory and practice department, 4 departments of foreign languages (focused on professional and business communications in agriculture, engineering, ecology, medicine and science). The Faculty of the Humanities and Social Science, a Philological faculty, the Faculty of Economics and the Faculty of Law also provide foreign language training for its students.
One can also study foreign languages at the Retraining faculty for teachers of foreign languages (RFT), in the Center of foreign languages of the Institute of supplementary professional education of PFUR, at its affiliate in the Institute of foreign languages and at the faculties of the University.

PFUR Institute of foreign languages. Postgraduate studies.
“Second degree” programme.
The Institute offers our students an opportunity to get a second degree in “Linguistics” 031100.
Programme duration:

1. bachelor’s degree studies – 3-4- years
2. master’s degree studies – 2 years

Training on the contractual basis cost:

1. full-time attendance – 5,440 c.u. per year,
2. full-time – extramural training – 3,400 c.u. per year.

Students receive national bachelor’s or master’s degree in linguistics. Further training at the PFUR postgraduate studies department is available.

The PFUR postgraduate studies department specialization is “Germanic languages” 10.02.04.
The Institute implements the national program of supplementary professional education “An interpreter of professional communications”. The full course duration is 4 years. It includes 800 class hours (8 levels of 100 hours each). Class schedule is convenient for students.
