Research in RUDN University

RUDN University shifted its emphasis, increasing its research activities. The number of graduates, successful doctoral candidates, and publications also grew by a significant measure. The basis for the university’s successful new approach was a series of fundamental reforms, including the introduction of modern management structures in the university’s administration, reorganization of the departments, and use of funding to support specific aims. RUDN University sponsors high-level academic exchanges, joint programs, international conferences and other international activities. Student exchanges are encouraged to cultivate talented students with global vision.

Priority directions:

  • Fundamentalization of research, attraction of young researchers, integration of scientific-research and academic work, developing R&D infrastructure, supporting existing scientific schools and creating new ones.
  • Effective use of RUDN University scientific and technical potential in the framework of applied research and private and state partnership.
  • Commercialization of intellectual activity results, technologies transfer and development of micro-entrepreneurship in science and technology.
  • Innovation activity infrastructure development, in particular in the field of nano-technologies, creation of hi-tech and unique scientific products.
  • Protection of intellectual property and copyrights of researchers and developers.
  • Strengthening international links and cooperation in the field of science and education with foreign scientific and academic centers.
  • Development of scientific research information-analytical infrastructure support and application of modern information technologies. 
  • Increasing effectiveness of fundamental and applied research stimulation mechanisms.
