Approximate prices for tests:

First and Second - $510 each, TOEFL - $100 + $40 for examination of ECFMG, third - $1200. These prices periodically changes, it will be reported to candidate during registration. This price should be increased with cost of two-way ticket to Philadelphia and cost of visa (approximately $1000). To get invitation on first test it is neccesary to apply a form in free fomat to ECFMG. In reply, to shown address blanks are being sended. They should be filled and sent back with the check. Further, you will be noticed with the date of beginning of three-month period, during which you may pass this test in convinient center, after agreement with center administration.

Every year "minimal mark" changes in dependece of American students' results of test. We do not call this value "pass-mark", because although it give you the right to pass next test, there in no sense to apply to clinic with this "minimal mark". In most cases, chief management will not even talk to you, if your results less then 90 %. You may repeat test unlimited times, if you have money. Mind, that TOEFL results are valid for two years, if you have not joined any place. After two years you have to repeat test.

In case of succesful passing of tests you obtain a certificate of ECFMG which includes your results. In some residencies you my apply directly with valid ECFMG certificate. However, at this moment at least all residencies recruit their staff through National Residency Matching Program (NRMP). You may send certificate data and your own residency wishes through ECFMG to this organisation. We have to note here, that in most specialities, you have to pass trough one year of basic preparement (Internal Diseases or Tansitional Year) and then - 3 to 7 or more years of specialisation. In their turn, residencies report their requirements to candidates and quantity of vacancies. Two times a year matching of the data takes place, and results of which are being send to residencies' management and candidates. Residency management co-ordinates date of interview with candidate, and, at last, two sides meet. Further, most of all depends on you. We have to note, that every step needs various documents, for example your letter from your high-school's dean of faculty or letter from Department of Healthcare et cetera. In spite of all difficulties, you have to do that, look further.
