Studying under the postgraduate program «World Economy» is the third, highest stage in acquiring the profession of an international economist. An applicant who has successfully completed postgraduate studies can engage in teaching, scientific, analytical, managerial, entrepreneurial activities, be a high-class professional in all areas of specialization in economics and management, in accordance with his career choice.
Graduates of the graduate school of the «World Economy» profile can carry out several types of professional activities at once:
- conduct scientific research on the world economy and international economic relations;
- to teach disciplines on the world economy and international economic relations, related disciplines, in institutions of higher professional education;
- engage in foreign economic activity in financial and non-financial companies (in the field of foreign trade, international finance, etc.);
- manage structural divisions and manage companies with foreign business in general, develop and develop international business of companies and entrepreneurs;
- to carry out activities in state authorities, supranational authorities of integration associations, representative offices of the country in international and regional economic organizations;
- perform high-level analytical and consulting work, expert work, work in the media and other fields;
- use knowledge of foreign languages and understanding of global economic processes, think broadly, competently build a strategy and tactics of economic activity.

Учебный процесс

The educational program for the training of highly qualified scientific and scientific-pedagogical personnel (postgraduate studies) in the direction of the profile (specialty) 5.2.5 «World Economy», is aimed at acquiring analytical, research, pedagogical, managerial and organizational skills for students.
As part of the training, an individual postgraduate plan is formed, which assumes a phased passage of the third stage of education, allowing you to successfully pass candidate minimums in the history and philosophy of science, a foreign language, a specialty (world economy), provide the necessary number of scientific publications, prepare and defend a PhD thesis for the degree of candidate of economic sciences.
The disciplines studied in graduate school include:
- history and philosophy of science; foreign language; (disciplines necessary for passing the candidate's minimums in philosophy and foreign language, preparation for the candidate's minimum in the specialty);
- pedagogy of higher education; methodology of scientific research, information databases for scientific research and publication activity (disciplines common to the field of Economics, which are basic for economists, researchers and teachers of higher education);
- world economy (advanced course) (a discipline required to pass the candidate's minimum in the specialty)
The educational process also includes compulsory pedagogical practice, conducting scientific research. Based on the results of scientific research, a dissertation for the degree of Candidate of economic Sciences should be developed, pre-defense at the graduating department and subsequent defense in the profile dissertation council of the dissertation should be completed.
At the end of the training, graduate students pass the state final certification. In case of successful completion of the training program and the state final certification, graduates of the postgraduate school receive a certificate.

Практика

During the training, graduate students undergo pedagogical practice.
Pedagogical practice is aimed at the formation of pedagogical skills and the acquisition of the necessary competencies of a higher school teacher. When passing pedagogical practice, graduate students attend lectures, seminars and other types of classes of the supervisor and specialists of the faculty of the department, help them in developing theoretical and practical material for teaching in disciplines, conduct seminars, conduct course work, independently develop their own special courses, master classes and conduct classes for students on them Faculty of Economics of RUDN University, as well as partner universities.
To the greatest extent, postgraduates of the profile 5.2.5 «World Economy» master the teaching of bachelor’s degree disciplines in the program International Economic Relations and Foreign Economic Activity and master’s degree programs in «International Trade» and «International Logistics», implemented by the Department of International Economic Relations of the RUDN University.

Graduates of the postgraduate program in the profile 5.2.5 «World Economy» receive two professions and can build a career:
- in higher educational institutions in Russia and abroad, in research organizations as teachers and researchers (analysts) in the field of specialization;
- as a specialist in the chosen field of economics in financial and non-financial companies engaged in foreign economic activity (foreign trade, foreign investment activities, international finance, and other activities with a foreign economic element), multinational corporations, consulting, logistics, intermediary companies, media organizations, in the management bodies of an integration association, country, region, municipalities, in international and regional economic organizations;
- as entrepreneurs with the necessary competencies for the successful development of international business.
